Odessa Teddy Bear Patrol

Teddy Bear Patrol Stuffed BearThe Odessa Teddy Bear Patrol was formed as a support organization for the Odessa Police Department in 1990 as a 501(C)(3) non-profit. The goal of the organization was to provide an additional tool for officers to help and comfort children in Odessa that have been involved in a traumatic event. The Odessa Teddy Bear Patrol began supplying stuffed teddy bears for the Department which are then placed in all Odessa Police Department and Fire Rescue vehicles.

The Teddy Bear Patrol has expanded their role and began providing bears to the Ector County Medical Examiners Office and University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB) Police Department. The Odessa Teddy Bear Patrol was funded by individual donations and an annual pancake breakfast fundraiser event that was hosted by the Earl S. Bailey American Legion Post Number 430 in Odessa.
