The purpose of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is to provide representation for the citizens of the City of Odessa in partnership with the Parks & Recreation Department, the Mayor, and the City Council in promoting understanding, appreciation, participation and support for open spaces, parks, recreational opportunities, cultural activities, programs and facilities.
Formed in 1984, the Advisory Board consists of 6 members serving a term of two-years and may be reappointed from the representing Council Member or Mayor. Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Park & Recreation Administration Office Conference Room – 1100 West 42nd Street, Odessa, TX, 79764.
The City Council, jointly with the Mayor, has appointment authority for the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board.
Special Requirements: Members must be Odessa residents. Members cannot be City of Odessa employees. Parks Board chooses own Chairman.
